These photos were taken near Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall last November 23, 2007. My niece, Rona, her friend Jacqueline and I visited the Taipei 101 Mall and we went up to its observatory.

1. Taipei 101 is the tallest building in the world.

"The Taipei 101 building resembles a space shuttle blasting its way through the clouds. This skyscraper is an example of Chinese-style design featuring a bamboo-like motiff. Last November 24, 2007 I met my niece, Rona and her friend Jacqueline at the Taipei Main Station. Rona works in Taochung -- in the middle of Taiwan. She and her friend Jacqueline took the train to meet me in Taipei.

From the Taipei main station, we went to the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall Station. We visited the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, the Zohongshan Park, the City Hall Station and Taipei 101 - the tallest building in the world.

We saw some "street performers (Chinese belly dancers)" at the Sun Yat Zen Memorial Hall.

Directions: Via Taipei MRT: Take the Blue Line going to Kunyang and get off at the S.Y.S Memorial Hall. Via Bus: Take Bus No. 204, 205, 263. 311 (311) to S.Y.S. Memorial Hall Station Stop.

Notes:

I visited the National Palace Museum of Taiwan last November 23, 2007. From Academia Sinica, I took the Bus No. 620. After about 40 minutes, I took off at the bus stop after the tunnel and walked about 10 minutes to the National Palace Museum.

Directions: Via MRT - At the Jiantan or Shilin Station, take bus R30 to the National Palace Museum. Via Bus - Take bus 255 or 304 to the National Palace Museum.

Information: "The National Palace Museum occupies over 39,000 square museum meters. Its collection includes bronze, jade, and ceramic items dating from the Stone Age to the late Qing dynasty. Note: On November 25, 2007 I visited Danshui in northern Taiwan. It is accessible via Taipei MRT -- around 45 minutes ride from the Taipei Main Station. On that day, I saw a magnificent sunset.

Description:

"Danshui is also known as Huwei, referring to the fishing gear placed at the end of the river. Danshui Canal used to be the economical center, ranging from Danshui, representing the north of Taiwan, down to Dadaocheng, Wanhua. "

Date Visited: Sunday, November 25, 2007 (Note: Previously, I visited the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall in 1994 and 1995.)

The Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall is located in No. 21, Xhongshan N. Road, Taipei. It is accessible via the Taipei MRT (2nd stop from the Taipei Main Station going to Xindian or Nanshijiao).

"The majestic hall epitomizes Chinese culture. The lovely park in front of the hall features interesting plants and flowers, an artificial mountain, and a small stream and bridge."
