Top Philippine Colleges and Universities Compete in National Programming Contest
 

Some 50 teams from 25 colleges and universities from all over the Philippines will compete against each other in the 2013 ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest - Philippine Invitational (ACM ICPC Philippines 2013).

The national programming contest will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Techological Institute of the Philippines in Aurora Blvd., Cubao, Quezon City.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC) is the most prestigious collegiate programming contest in the world. (See http://icpc.baylor.edu). It is sponsored by IBM.

The ACM ICPC Philippines 2013 is a team collegiate programming competition. Each team consists of three currently enrolled college students from a Philippine educational institution that is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Contestants may use either C, C++ or Java and should know how to use the PC² contest software.

Guidelines on Team Notebooks: ACM ICPC Philippines 2013

GUIDELINES ON TEAM NOTEBOOKS:

A team is allowed to bring into the contest area, three copies of a team notebook, one copy for each contestant.The notebook must be a three-ring binder that can hold 8.5" x 11" letter-size pages. Each notebook should have the name of the school and the name of the team prominently indicated on its front cover.The notebook must have four sections, each section starting with a tabbed divider, labeled NOTES, HANDOUTS, REFERENCE, and WORK.NOTES -- contains at most four (4) pages of single-sided hand-written notes.

HANDOUTS -- contains only those handouts provided by the ACM ICPC Philippines 2013 staff. These handouts may include hand-written comments and corrections.

REFERENCE -- contains up to twenty-five pages of printed notes, single spaced, in 12 point font of the team's choice, with one-inch margins on all sides. These notes must be the same for all three members of the team.

WORK -- contains a reasonable number, but not more than 100 pages, of blank bond paper and graphing paper, all letter-size, for the team member to use as scratch papers during the contest.The notebook may have a plastic pouch containing pencils, pens, erasers, ruler, compass, protractor, and triangles.The team members may not bring a calculator to the contest.Each team member may bring a dictionary for translation purposes. The only marking allowed on the dictionary is the identity of the owner.

A page is defined as one side of a bond paper. So one bond paper with a back-to-back print is considered two pages.

The ACM ICPC Philippines 2013 is a team collegiate programming competition. Each team consists of three currently enrolled college (undergraduate) students from a Philippine educational institution that is recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Contestants may use either C, C++ or Java and should know how to use the PC2 contest software. Contestants should be officially endorsed by the department chairman or dean of their school. The ACM ICPC Philippines 2013 will follow the ACM ICPC contest format (See http://www.icpc.baylor.edu/).

Registration Fee: PhP 1,500 per participant (contestant, coach, observer)

(Inclusions: 1 lunch, 1 snack, contest kit, certificate of participation. Note: Plaques and cash prizes will be awarded to top 3 teams.)

Payments may be made onsite (cash or check). For check payments, make check payable to: Technological Institute of the Philippines. Deadline for submission of Pre-Registration Forms: February 22, 2013.
