Katipunan Traffic: The Rain Factor

From the Ateneo Blueboard:

Heavy rain starting at 6:35 p.m. last Thursday night, 18 September flooded the northbound lane of Katipunan under the Gate 2.5 footbridge and blocked traffic.

Northbound vehicles slowed down before the footbridge. Some vehicles going through the flooded section up to Gate 2.5. Vehicles stopped as water got deeper.
Traffic build-up extended all the way to the south side of flyover & beyond.

Northbound vehicles were forced to take inner lanes to avoid flooded section. MMDA personnel allowed center barriers to be opened for U-turn before footbridge. Concrete barriers were opened by drivers.
