For my class in Ma 195a15 (Seminar on Numerical Analysis) today (1 July 2008) I discussed the Secant Method and later I taught my students how to write a Mathematica loop construct using the While[] function. The example I gave is the Mathematica implementation of the Bisection Method. See figure above. (Note: Click on the image to see a larger view).
