Philippine Journals Online (www.PhilJOL.info)

Based in Oxford, United Kingdom, the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) has a mission to "enable a sustainable network of stakeholders that owns and drives access, use, dissemination and communication of research information."

This year (2008) INASP embarked on a new project -- the Philippine Journals Online or PhilJOL. On 21-23 May 2008, INASP conducted a workshop intended for editors of Philippine scholarly publications. The workshop was held in Ateneo de Manila University.

Currently (5/23/08) PhilJOL has 23 member journals. This network includes the Philippine Computing Journal (PCJ) and the Philippine Information Technology Journal (PITJ) which are both published by the Computing Society of the Philippines (CSP).

PhilJOL uses the Open Journals Systems , a journal management and publishing system that has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project through its federally funded (Canadian government) efforts to expand and improve access to research.
